Keeping your maintenance records for your car

One of the current trends going on with buying a used car is their maintenance records.  People are looking to see if a used car has a maintenance record. Because after all if somebody took care of a car you can trust it will last longer. So when you have a car it is more important to keep good records.Because quite a few buyers are now wanting to see that.

So one of the things you want to make sure to do is to keep a receipt of all service you do for your car.  In my auto repair San Diego business I make sure to give all my clients a receipt of the work that was done.Be sure that whatever company you are going to get service from will do the same.  This could mean the difference in getting the price you want or settling for a lot less.

Also, when you have your car taken in for a tune up, don’t forget to keep a record of it.Getting your vehicle tuned up on a regular schedule will help it run longer and smoother. It also is very helpful in getting your car to easily pass a smog check.  In my smog test San Diego center I notice cars that weren’t tuned up regularly are the ones that fail the test.

Finally you want to keep good records of when you take your car in for brake maintenance. This is another important part of making sure your car is taken care of.It is what most potential buyers are going to want to see.Because a new buyer definitely does not want to have to get an expensive brake job.  So in my San Diego brakes service I make sure to give a thorough report to all my clients.

Now hopefully you can see the value in maintaining your car is you want to sell it for a lot of money.A lot of buyers now want a history of mainteance for the cars they want to buy.  By keeping records you can prove that you have been taking care of it.
