Dry mineral foundation provides light coverage. This does not mean that blemishes or irregularities will show through. The foundation will just feel quite light on your face. However, you can still layer on the mineral powder foundation to camouflage lines, wrinkles and irregularities.

Here are some positive benefits that you will get from using mineral foundation as dry powder:

* It hides creases and wrinkles by reflecting light. This will decrease physical evidence of aging. The mica in mineral powder foundation works slightly better when dry.

* It feels like you are wearing no makeup at all. The powder will smooth onto your skin and provide a smooth, natural look.

Applying mineral foundation involves swirling the horsehair brush in the powder. Tap the excess off the brush. Buff the powder onto your face. Apply as many layers as you want. Your end results will look bright, light and natural. You can apply additional cosmetics like eyeshadow, blush or bronzer over the mineral foundation if you like.

Some people like to use mineral foundation in wet form. They think that they get better coverage from this method. This is largely a personal preference since mineral foundation covers evenly either way. Using mineral foundation wet makes you look slightly more “made up” and glamorous. This looks less natural, but it may look more polished. It provides a smooth palate for additional makeup. The first step of applying wet mineral foundation is to dip the brush in dry mineral powder. Tap the powder into your palm. You should not ever get the entire contents of your mineral foundation wet at once. Moisten the brush and mix the foundation in your palm.
